Our Creative Ability

All of us have the ability to create.  Our imagination begins the process of materializing our thoughts into a visual reality. We start with an idea. Then, through an incubation period, the idea begins to grow and eventually is birthed into a prototype.  Adjustments are made, and the product is soon ready to be displayed.  It is a structured process that has many ramifications. 

There is also a creation of emotional patterns that are developed in our minds.  Take the concepts of worry, fear, anxiety, depression, anger, and other closely-knit emotions.  Many of these self-created thoughts can manifest physically, affecting not only our behavior but also those with whom we come into contact.

Many of our emotional creations play a decisive role in our everyday lives; worry, for instance.  Some of us spend too much time developing worry into a state of continual growth.  Before long, a simple element is being developed into a larger and more defined emotion.  It is like making a mountain out of a molehill.  Instead of constructing worry into a larger-than-life concept, we need to put up mental barriers so the negatives have no place to grow.  Worry, and the rest of the negative family lies at the doorway of our minds.  We must not allow our minds to create the concept of worry.  We have the ability to create, but we must use discretion in choosing what we create.

Christians have the ability to create and emulate the thoughts of Jesus.  When we accepted God’s invitation to receive Jesus as our Savior and Lord, we were given the ability to create thoughts that would help us develop Christian character.  The Word commands us to let the mind of Christ be in us. (Philippians 2:5)  We are to think like Jesus.  It is the Christians’ responsibility to create a mindset where it is not our will, but His.

Our minds are the laboratory in which we create a life that exemplifies Jesus.  What we create in our mind will have a direct influence on our spirit and body.  Believers must use their creative ability to exemplify the Kingdom of God.

What are we creating today?  Are we accentuating the positive or are we enhancing the negative?  It starts with our mind exercising a thought that metastasizes into actions.  We become, to a large degree, what we think.  Let us begin creating things that will bring glory to our Lord!  Many prayers are answered as a result of our minds’ preparation to receive God’s response.  God creates from the heart outward (Psalm 51:2) while the Believer deals with the renewing of the mind. (Roman 12:2)  When we understand God’s creative ability and our creative potential, we will see the beginning of “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.” (Luke 11:2)   HAPPY CREATING!
