Revival



British weather is changeable. Thankfully. 

Many years ago I spent a year in the Far East where the weather was the same
 day after day. I longed to get back to the UK.

So far in 2026 we have had an astonishing quantity of rain. 
But back in 1976 we had no rain in the south of England from mid-March till 
September. A huge drought indeed! 
And when the rain came there was the most amazing explosion of new growth and life everywhere. 



Well, there have always been times of drought in the Church. 
And spiritual drought is a very sad condition for Christians to experience. 
Especially when unrecognised.



Way back in Israel’s history more than once they became captives to pagan nations 
as a result of failing to obey God’s commandments. 
They were in a spiritual drought of their own making. 

But in his mercy, many times God sent a prophet to them to rebuke them and 
lead them back into God’s ways. About 500 BC He sent the prophet Ezra to get them back to their own land 
and relationship with God.



Today, much of the church here in the UK is in a drought to some degree. 

But there are signs of hope, praise the Lord.



Just meditate on these Old Testament words and cry out to the Lord to intervene -

“That our God may enlighten our eyes and give us a measure of revival in our bondage.” Ezra 9:8 NKJV.
