Poetry

---

I exhort elders amongst you,
As a fellow elder witness;
The suffering of Christ is true,
Revealed my spiritual fitness.

Shepherd the flock that’s amongst you,
And keep feeding the sheep of God;
Be willingly as you pursue,
Eagerly to honor and laud.

Do to laud not for shameful gain,
Not a compulsion by constraint;
But for His glory to attain,
That will truly make you a saint.

Not domineering to others,
But an example to the flock;
Seeing the sisters and brothers,
Guiding them along as they walk.

When the chief Shepherd shall appear,
You will get your glorious crown;
Give Him the honor to revere,
No longer will you wear a frown.

Any of you who are younger,
Clothe yourself with humility;
Submitting unto the elder,
Humbled adorn through dignity.
