The End Of Watch: A Fallen Policeman’s Tribute

“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.” Romans 13:1&2 ESV

“Unit 747, this is Dispatch.  We have your last call.  We have the watch from here.  Officer “J. Doe”, you are relieved of duty.  We have the watch from here.”  .. the end of watch recognition from LAPD Dispatch to honor any policeman who has lost their lives in the line of duty.

With all of the hate that ICE and cooperating Police Departments are receiving from paid activists and from the violent and disruptive protests from the public, it is far too easy to forget that our police will “protect and serve” unto death for these people when necessary.

The 64 police officers who lost their lives to violent felonious death during 2024 in the USA were such defenders of the public’s safety, and there are already law enforcement experts who will say that officer deaths will number even higher* as public battles with ICE continue to escalate.

We have indeed become a culture of assassination in both our influence on social media and in physical confrontations with paid agitator groups, like Atefia, and it is not wise to follow the lead of such people.

Requesting your prayers for the safety of our nation's Police Departments, starting New Year’s Eve:

Unless your conscience is so seared by social media that you have hardened your heart against the police, won’t you please join us in prayer this New Year’s Eve that all who wear the badge can hopefully go home at the end of their shift,  and not have to be given an “End of Watch” from Dispatch, signifying the end of their service forever.

*Based on recent reports and budget allocations, it is projected that ICE confrontations and enforcement actions in public will intensify and likely get worse in 2026, primarily due to increased funding and a strategic shift toward more aggressive tactics.  .. Homeland Security.gov

The political and citizen opposition to deportation of undocumented workers will become more violent as well, with new tactics and protesters better equipped to cause more injury and damage to both ICE and cooperating law enforcement.  .. Homeland Security.gov
