Scripture: Luke 14:25–33
_"Whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple."_ (v. 27)
Jesus doesn't sugarcoat the truth—following Him comes at a cost. In Luke 14:25–33, He speaks boldly to the crowds, calling them to count the cost of discipleship. He uses two powerful illustrations: a man building a tower and a king going to war—both must plan and prepare.
True discipleship isn’t about convenience or comfort. It’s about surrender—putting Christ above all, even family, possessions, and personal desires. Jesus calls us to carry our cross, die to ourselves daily, and walk in obedience, even when the path is tough.
This message challenges us to ask: Are we just fans of Jesus or committed followers? Are we willing to let go of anything that hinders our walk with Him?
When we choose Jesus wholeheartedly, we find the life He promises—one of purpose, peace, and eternal reward.
Prayer:
Lord, give me the courage and strength to follow You fully. Help me surrender anything that competes with You in my heart. Amen.
