INTEGRITY, EFFECTIVE MINISTRY AND LEADERSHIP.
There’s this subtle, seductive, and obviously deceptive wind sweeping across the corridors of the Church in recent times. The shady illusion that what the anointing of the Holy Spirit can do, titles, positions, and accolades can accomplish, or even do better! As a result of this pitiful condition, saints don’t even bother to seek God's fresh presence and glorious power anymore; they rather go for more or all the titles and accolades!
The 40 days and nights Jesus Christ, Moses, and other saints spent agonizing in prayer and fasting wasn’t to acquire more titles and accolades, but for the exclusive anointing of the Holy Spirit. Never forget this, the anointing of the Holy Spirit alone is omnipotent, that’s the wisdom and power of God almighty for all times!
The core and ultimate purpose of the anointing of the Holy Spirit on us is not in any way to glorify, promote or glamorize secular or religious titles. Titles must remain exactly what they are – symbols of identifications and recognition for our roles, place, function, office or calling. Stark unbelievers and even devils have recognized and highly established titles, we all know that.
This crave, hustle and lust for more and more recognition and accolades of men has got to stop, so we can focus on our primary responsibility as sons and daughters of God. Consequently, leadership tussles here in the Church, family or Christian communities are nothing but a sign and evidence of either pride, selfishness, or immaturity, the love and clamor for recognition and titles being the root cause!
The understanding that we’re never called in isolation should humble us to know that no one is inferior. Every role, calling or gift in the body of Christ is unique; it’s therefore obvious that we can’t function in all gifts at the same time. That’s why it’s pertinent we honor those playing even complementary roles. Never, ever despise any gift, calling or ministry in the Church or community!
See 1 Corinthians 12:22-24.
Jesus Christ remarked, “The greatest among you should be the servant of all” I’m yet to see a dedicated, enthusiastic, self motivated, selfless, and highly focused servant clamoring for headship, authority, and power! He’s simply too engrossed in his passionate service to feel such need.
The divorce rate in Christendom is escalating because “everyone wants to be the head” nobody wants to serve! The Church is fast losing its authority, miracle working power, and positive influence because Christian leaders and believers in general are now more focused on being referred to as “Pastors, Doctors, Reverend, Fathers, Mothers, Elders, Apostles, Prophets, Bishops etc.” than identifying and meeting needs through wholehearted longing for God’s raw power and awesome anointing to destroy the yokes, burdens and shackles that are making the Church lethargic, lukewarm, carnal, and worldly!
It’s no longer a secret that we, the Church, desperately need revival and wholesome resurrection, because we’re either totally dead or are dying very fast! Let’s crave instead for God’s glorious power and wisdom to minister (serve) effectively and not just acquire more titles to intimidate, harass, and oppress one another. Let’s be loaded with the Holy Spirit, the divine ability for an effective, long lasting service. Let’s not be intoxicated by the office, position, or place we represent. The difference will reflect in the lives of those we’re called to reach – soon!
Revelation 3:19. Jesus says, “I am the one who corrects and disciplines everyone I love. Be diligent and turn from your indifference.”
Very important also, is the plain truth that there are no eternal rewards from God for our titles, position, or accolades, but for our selfless, productive and effective service to God and humanity. Our faithful services approve, authenticate, and confirm our positions, titles and accolades, and not the other way around. It’s very easy to miss the true substance while emphasizing and glorifying the chaff! Let’s be known for our effective service, and let our work and service be known because we are faithful stewards of God’s miracle working power and anointing.
Great leaders never desire to lead but to serve. Great titles are very common and in great abundance, but men and women of Christian responsibility and integrity are rare. The Church is not man’s business but God’s business – a ministry, service oriented. Christians are not bosses or bullies, but servants and sons of God.
As we perceive and identify the needs, and then determine in our hearts to meet those needs with simplicity, (that’s with no strings attached) God is gladly committed to providing divine authority and ability to perform. That’s why wholehearted service emanating from seasoned, effectual and fervent intercession is such a sweet and powerful aroma that quickly attracts the superabundant anointing to execute spectacular and amazing feats in any capacity to the glory of God almighty!
Acts 10:38.
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
2 Corinthians 2:17.You see, we are not like the many hucksters who preach for personal profit. We preach the word of God with sincerity and with Christ’s authority, knowing that God is watching us.
