Not that I’m already perfect,
But I press to make it my own;
Since Christ Jesus did not reject,
How I preach the seeds that are sown.

I believe not that I had made,
On my own but one thing I do;
Forget the lies others conveyed,
And strain forward to what is true.

I press on forward toward the goal,
For the prize of the upward call;
From the Christ Jesus for my soul,
So that I do not trip and fall.

Let those of us who are mature,
If they are thinking otherwise;
God will reveal to make them pure,
As His Spirit opens their eyes.

Only hold true what we attained,
Letting us in mind the same thing;
Walking the same rule as proclaimed,
The goodness what Heaven will bring.
