More Than

The ancient Roman Empire was pretty powerful and often
ruthless.
The apostle Paul wrote a letter to the Christians living
there to encourage them to stand firm in their faith in
their Saviour Jesus.
In the 8th chapter of his letter he listed some of the
challenges they faced -
     Tribulation,
          Distress,
               Persecution,
                    Famine,
                         Nakedness,
                              Peril,
                                   Sword.
Paul speaks of being killed all day long and being
accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Then he plunges in with that short and glorious word ‘Yet!’
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors
through Him who loved us.”
        MORE THAN CONQUERORS!

Well, here in the UK we’re not in the Roman Empire, but
every one of us has plenty of challenges.
Yet! Through his mercy and love in Jesus we can be more
than conquerors of them.
Praise the Lord!
