Hebrews 3:7-13 (KJV) Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
I want to talk about the evil heart of unbelief. Here in the scriptures, Apostle Paul talks about the evil heart of unbelief. It must be understood that unbelief hardens the heart.
We're living in a time where people don't believe in God anymore. They stopped going to church, and they stopped reading their bibles. They stopped praying to God and think that prayer doesn't work.
Hebrews 10:38 (KJV) Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. As believers in Jesus Christ, we should delight in the Lord, taking pleasure in the saints.
James 2:19 says the devils also believe and tremble.
The problem is that people stopped trembling, and the people stopped believing. People have reduced God to a figment of their own imagination. But Jesus Christ is greater than your imagination. He's greater than the heavens and the earth. The heavens is his throne, and the earth is his footstool.
God is not a man that He should lie nor the son of man that he should repent. If the Lord said it, the Lord will do it. You owe God a praise.
We're talking about the evil heart of unbelief.
Look at Romans 1:20-32 (KJV) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
When you have an evil heart of unbelief, you open yourself up to idolatry, perversion, abomination, and all sorts of wickedness.
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) says, But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
You don't seek God once and expect him to show up. You must diligently seek the Lord.
The Lord never promised that we wouldn't go through nothing. He said He will never leave thee nor forsake thee. Put your faith and trust in the Lord, and He will bring you through in due time. His time, not yours.
Being a believer of Jesus Christ is not a peaches and cream life. There's good times and bad. It works the same way in marriage. Your relationship with God is like a marriage. If you walk away from God, you're still married.

Sin is deceitful. It will cause you to give up and say what's the use in serving God. It's called an evil heart of unbelief.
God is real, and so is the devil. The devil doesn't want you to serve God. He wants you to die in your sin so he can throw it in God's face. Satan takes particular pleasure in Christians who turn away from God.
Being aware of your emotions and attitude is crucial as a believer. They play a huge part in whether you continue to believe God or not.
Revelation 21:7-8 (KJV) He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Emphasis on the word unbelieving. The devil doesn't want you to believe the gospel of Jesus Christ. He wants you to reject it and die in your sin.
Jesus died for our sins, so we didn't have to. He took our place instead. All we have to do is repent and believe the gospel. Live your life for Jesus Christ. Reject the evil heart of unbelief. God bless, amen
