Gods Perfect Reality

We live in a world where reality seems to be what we discern with our physical senses. We tend to look to that reality for security and fulfillment. But our world can unravel. Chaos ensues, tragedy strikes, our bodies fail, we face betrayal and evil. We can become unbalanced if we are not centered in a greater, unseen reality, one with an unshakeable foundation eternally untouched by instability, evil, or decay. 

Almighty God provides that unshakeable foundation. Ezekiel, Daniel, John, and Isaiah saw awesome visions of God enthroned (Ezekiel 1:4-28, Daniel 7:9-10, Isaiah 6:1-6, Revelation 4:1-6).1 Corinthians 1:14-17 says that, “Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation.” NLT  God created the seen and the unseen realms and he, “holds all creation together” (vs 17).  

Jesus, God made visible as our Teacher and Savior, is preparing a place in heaven for believers (John 14:1-3) and they are assured a heavenly “priceless inheritance” beyond change or decay (1 Peter 1:4).  Paul challenges us to focus on these far greater and lasting realities of heaven where Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father (Colossians 3:1-4).  And 1 Corinthians 15:43 promises, “Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory.”

Earthly pain can seem to eclipse God’s presence and love, testing our faith to the breaking point. But God is working all things together for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purposes (Romans 8:28). And 2 Corinthians 4:18 promises that “the things we see now will soon be gone . . . the things we cannot see will last forever.” 

God will one day discard this fallen world and create a new world filled with his righteousness (2 Peter 3:11-13, Revelation 21:1-7) and all creation, “will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay” (Romans 8:18-25 NLT). 

PRAYER: Almighty God, thank you that your reality is perfect, powerful, and present now. Help me to set my mind and heart on it. Amen
