Bless You In The Name Of Jesus




God has blessed each one of us in many wonderful ways. Blessings that we often can take for granted. Unknowingly, we can become so use to our Christianity, along with our doctrinal beliefs within our own Church and family, that eventually we can become stagnated as well. Too easily becoming followers of a select religious movement forgetting we are followers of Jesus Christ foremost. Too easily our blessings can become our demands. We can quickly pass from learning and purposing to serve to learning and purposing to be served. It is a fine line, difficult at best to discern. God bless me and my family is an ever present prayer for most of us.


Surely you have heard what most people say when someone sneezes? It rolls off the lips before the mind even has time to think. God bless you or Bless you ... most of us genuinely use this as a habitual remark. Harmless enough, except the true origin of such a provoked blessing is remarkably UnChristian. However once the facts are revealed it becomes spiritually difficult to respond to sneezes in the same way. Such blessings were incurred upon a person after sneezing in the belief that they were expelling demon spirits. We know better now.


The common phrase ' have a blessed day' is often rehearsed in the Christian community nowadays. From the grocery store to the work place this harmless phrase can be heard. Again such a remark is rapidly becoming a habitual blessing we render upon a person before departing. Even resounding in a genuine pleasantness in whatever the situation. But again, once a few facts are revealed, spiritually it is difficult to respond in the same way.


There are scant ways to have a blessed day without Jesus Christ! To know Jesus Christ is a blessing and to try to evoke some blessing without Jesus is next to impossible. Our names carry little weight without being connected to Jesus Christ. My blessing you will only go so far (a millimeter at best), but the blessings of Jesus Christ will carry you to the end.


Our words as Disciples of Jesus Christ do count and we are suppose to be accountable for what we speak. God Bless you in Jesus Name, now that's a blessing! I Bless you in the Name of Jesus, now that's a blessing! The Disciples of Jesus on the way to the Gate called Beautiful knew this. The lame man they blessed in Jesus Name received what he truly needed. The words they spoke to him were not a habitual remark. The words they spoke were in the Name of Jesus and the man received a miracle that blessed many that day.


The Name of Jesus is not heard of too much outside our own Christian circles. The Name of Jesus often ends a discussion abruptly. The Name of Jesus is even scorned if repeated to often at the work place. The Name of Jesus is an affront to the proud and lofty. The Name of Jesus nevertheless does Bless and He is the Blessing.


Oh, to hear more the Name of Jesus in my ears. Oh, to speak more the Name of Jesus from my own lips. That wonderful name, that matchless name. JESUS!
