Does the Regathering of the Jews Point to a Pre Tribulation Rapture?

Generally, human beings enjoy spending time with like-minded people.

In many respects it explains the current division in America. Heated so politically, Democrats cluster around themselves in big cities while Republicans flee to red states. Living near people who think like you do also brings a sense of well-being and safety.

Recently I sold my house with plans to move to an area away from the big city. The primary push for this move comes from wanting more property and leaving a city that has deteriorated in recent years. I got along well with my neighbors but hearing just about everything on that side of the fence took its toll, too. As such, a recent conversation with my paster’s wife resulted in her inviting me to live in a nearby town filled with those who attend my church. Though this neighborhood stacks homes close together I told her the idea appealed because I just want to be around like-minded people.

As a Christian living in Oregon I need to understand what the future likely has in store for me. This state does not like Christians and those in charge make it difficult to be a Christian. No, we are not being jailed, yet, but many believe that time will come. My church’s attempt to build and accommodate the growing congregation as many flee their apostate churches has been stalled by county officials.

At any rate, all of this may help explain why God will regather the Jews in the last days which in turn points to a pre-tribulation rapture of the Church.

What do you think will happen to the Jews if God removes all Christians from the earth? OK, forget that question for now. What people group makes up the Jews’ and Israel’s closest allies? Christians!

If you were bullied in high school but had a “bigger” friend as your security guard you probably felt relatively safe from your haters. But on those days your friend was absent, how did you feel? This scenario applies to any circumstance in life when you felt threatened by an external power with your safeguard(s) removed.

Christians who visit Israel sometimes report back that the Jews ask them why they love Israel so much. The Jews have a supernatural blindness about Jesus as Messiah (For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in – Romans 11:25) and also don’t realize that Christians love Israel and God’s people because, well, the Bible! and they are God’s chosen people. Do you know how many Christian-based non-profits exist solely for the purpose of helping Jews in Israel? A lot.

Those who believe in a pre-tribulation rapture of the church have plenty of scripture evidence but perhaps an event prophesied by the Bible also points towards a pre-tribulation rapture. If the Jews remain scattered when “…he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed” (2 Thess. 2:7-8) just think of what might become of them once the Holy Spirit and all Christians, filled with the Holy Spirit, no longer occupy the earth.

Think of it this way, your “bigger” friend kept you safe from the wicked one(s) but when your friend was taken out of the way (i.e. not at school), you probably felt all alone and needed a safe place to occupy until the next day. But the Jews’ friend won’t be coming back to school, ever.  

October 7, 2023 did little in a surge of empathy for the State of Israel and the Jews. In fact, today, one could argue, the world has become more dangerous to the Jew than at any time in history. We don’t have a another Hitler, yet, but did anyone think on October 8, 2023 people on American soil would eventually protest against the Jews.

Many reasons exist for God first scattering then gathering his people but perhaps one reason for regathering them in one place, Israel, lies in the fact that God wants to protect them. If I want to move to a neighborhood with like-minded people and even a neighborhood filled with people from my church, don’t you think the Jews not only want, but need, to live in a place with other Jews for peace, safety and security?

If I was a Jew in today’s world Israel might top the list of places I should move.
