Why were you looking for me?
Why did you travel all the way
From the far Oriental East
Following the Star in the Sky?
Is it because you knew I was the
King to come into this world?
Why were you looking for me?
Why did you search for me for three days
Thinking I was lost in Jerusalem?
Why were your anxious eyes full of sorrow?
Did you not know that I had to be busy
Doing my Father's work in the Temple?
Why were you looking for me?
Why did you run all over
The meadows, mounts and seas
Falling all over in joy and anticipation?
Is it because of the signs that I performed
When I multiplied the loaves and fishes?
Why were you looking for me?
Why were you waiting for me to come in and go out?
Was it my presence that touched your heart?
Was it the words spoken by me that gave you life
A hope beyond all hope of another life with me?
Why were you looking for me?
Why did you rush before the day began
Bearing ointments and spices
To anoint my lifeless form?
Was it because of your deepest love for me?
Why were you looking for me?
After I had ascended back to the Father
Why were you gazing up at the sky?
Was it because you already missed me
Or were you waiting for me to return again?
