Countless days I awake with the greatest of intentions believing that I will be able to wander away from the gossip and viciousness that can come out during conversations. Time and time again I fall prey to the flow of the conversation then walk away thinking “I really shouldn’t have said that, it would be so wounding if so and so knew I had said that.”

Thankfully the Lord is our rock and redeemer and gradually he shows us the reflections in our hearts and makes it easier to reflect his radiance and loveliness.

The Lord finds gratification in the littlest of changes we make in our lives to reflect his grace and forgiveness to others. Don’t be disheartened if you too fall prey to the gossip and viciousness that sometimes surrounds us. At the end of the day write a list of all the gratifying things you did in the reflections of the Lord and then write a list of the things that you would have changed or withdrawn from saying if you could go back. The next day make a point to amend the things you can from your list. You’ll become so conscious of your thoughts and the words that come out of your mouth that slowly the list of positives will far out weigh the list of negatives.

Prayer: Lord, help my mouth and heart to reflect your unfailing kindness and everlasting forgiveness. Day by day help me to be more like you.
