We all anticipate special days and noted ones, eagerly awaiting for the sun to rise on that important day. Maybe the return of a loved one, a birthday, a milestone or a beautiful meeting day.
When the day does eventually come, our happiness escalates to great heights and our joy literally pounds in our hearts.

But have we ever wondered about the day when we enter into the Lord's bliss?
The day when we shall see him face to face, the day when our eyes will see the splendour of heaven, the angels in white, the saints in their glory and the flaming throne of God in the centre.
At times, our earthly calendar is marked for things to be done in coming years that we do not visualise or contemplate the coming life thinking it is still far off in time.
But the reality is that we do not know when that day will come upon us.

Jesus himself has cautioned us to be on guard and relates the parable of the master of the household who keeps his chief servant in charge before going away on a long travel saying that how fortunate is that servant whose master finds him doing his work should he return at an untimely hour without notice.
He will then reward his servant and make him the Master of all.
If we also knew the hour and day when our master would return to take us, then we would be fully prepared but since we do not know when the Lord will come again we should condition our souls to be ready at the drop of a hat to return to our permanent dwelling with him.

But until that day arises, we should be in a state of happiness throughout life that God has prepared something not just out of this world or a too good to be true but a definite reality of so grand a place that our eyes will definitely pop out in astonishment, such will be the beauty of heaven not just in the physical scene but the far greater beauty of being able to live with him eternally.

So let us gird ourselves, tighten our virtues as our best dress, keep sin at triple arm's length, pray, praise and thank God continuously, love one another and fashion our souls for the grand entry into the parade in Heaven where everyone is a winner and all will receive the prize of a new and timeless life.
