      The Character of Faith Succeeds

And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.”Luke 17:19 ESV

This incident really tells more than the gratitude of one leper who returned to show thankfulness of what Jesus had done. From the account when Jesus heals ten lepers, one of those ten displayed faith for us to take hold of. Our faith is assigned us from God, as referenced from Romans 12:3.

The following is referenced from a pastors insight who said:  ‘Many people believe they would be better equipped to live the Christian life if God would only grant more faith. Jesus focused not on the quantity of faith, but its character.’ More faith does not equal greater ability to accomplish, since God is the One who does the work. The Lord is able to accomplish great things with only a small amount of faith (like the mustard seed) of genuine faith.’ [David Jeremiah]

Recall what our Lord spoke regarding the episode when He healed a boy with an Unclean Spirit.  And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.” Luke 9:23

Learning do die daily from our sufficiency and determination helps us recognize, ‘Greater IS HE who is in us….’  How I must daily be reminded to deny myself, that I find His grace and sufficiency to intercede for me.

No matter what our own ‘thorn in the flesh,’ might be we’re being challenged with, recognizing The Character of Faith assigned each one of us will be sufficient to see us through.

Our growing and learning experiences are testimony to exercising faith we already have.

Father, thank you for revealing and assigning us just the right amount of faith. That we not think too highly of ourselves, but like the one leper, demonstrate gratitude of love with appreciation who exhibited his faith. AMEN
