Follow me in my footsteps
As I walk, let me lead you ahead.
Let your shadow be my shade from behind
Let my shadow be your shade from upfront.

Follow me in my footsteps
Even if the climb is treacherous,
Even through rugged rocks and burst streams
I will lead you safely to the other side with me.

Follow me in my footsteps
Place your feet in the large imprints
The ones left by my own feet.
You will know that you are walking on ground
The pattern of which will take you home with me.

Follow me in my footsteps.
Through silent mounts of prayer
Through courage shown as I had done.
When the time comes to carry your cross
Remember how I had carried it once for you.

Follow me in my footsteps
Gather all the ones that belong to me.
Whether scattered or near to your sight
Make them all one to be found in me.

Follow me in my footsteps
If you have to leave the saved ones
To search for the ones who need to be saved.
Do so through all the countryside
Find them and carry them back to me.

Follow me in my footsteps
You can never thus be lost.
Your steps will fit into my prints
To be joined with mine forever.

Follow me in my footsteps
Follow me blindly, heedlessly.
Follow me with all the reasons in your heart
Follow me passionately.
Follow me with only the intent of being with me.
