Darkness Defeated

“But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.” Acts 16:25, 26.

Two of God’s preachers imprisoned.
Their situation looked pretty hopeless.
“BUT”
That short word was God’s intervention.
At midnight, with their legs locked in the stocks - BUT.
And what were Paul and Silas doing at midnight?
“Praying and singing hymns to God.”
Wow!
And how did God respond to their prayers and hymns?
A great earthquake!
Prison foundations shaken!
Prison doors opened!
Prisoners’ chains loosed!
Every trace of darkness swept away!

When we struggle in darkness, perhaps we should follow the example of Paul and Silas, praying and singing hymns to God.
Believe that he can step into our darkness with an almighty “BUT”.
