THE CARNIVAL HAS ARRIVED

PROLOGUE

In my youthful days, I loved carnivals. Seems they always came around in the spring and summer. I would save up my allowance in hopes of winning some great carnival booth prizes. The booth barkers were always so reserved in calling out their wares. Somehow, the announced claims never came up to my expectations.  

Nonetheless, aside from all the barkers’ hoop-la, I could always depend on the fortune teller to give me a positive hint of my future lifestyle. Did the predictions ever come true? Not really, but no matter the advice it was always interesting to my simple youthful mind. It gave me something to brag about to my friends, especially my young puppy loves. 

Let’s move back to the past, to the “good ole days” when life was so simple.  Not like today’s progressive socialist, “woke” culture. Can we now step back into yesteryear?  Yes, if only in our dreams. So here goes, The Carnival Has Arrived.

I was suddenly awakened from my deep sleep in another totally complicated dream world. Was it a dream, a vision or an insight from above? Seemingly I was at a street fair or carnival, being led into a heavily-decorated fortune teller’s booth There I saw the fortune teller, all decked out in the customary gypsy garb. She wore a long, colorful skirt, a black shawl with deep blue and forest green fancy fringe, a bright colored velvet, brocade top and ornate jewelry.

The key to it all seemed to be matching gold jewelry; large hoop earrings, layered chain necklaces and jangling bracelets. There was a fake visionary quality in the way her colorful headscarf hid her face. All in all, she seemed to have plenty of psychic energy that allowed her to connect with the guides and spirits of the trade.

“Come on in, my fair young man, and take a peek into your future,” she called out. “Simply put a dollar bill in the jar, and we’ll take a quick look into your future.”

I paid the fare, and she went right to work. Rubbing the big crystal ball produce some very interesting results. The fortune was not personally directed toward me, however, but rather there were insights toward our Great Republic of America. It was as if the crystal ball had taken on a mind of its own. There was a fortune title of “What Has Happened to America, the land of the free, home of the brave?”

First, came a captioned crystal ball photo displaying a large open newspaper topped with a Bible. The caption read, “Simply place your old, worn Bible on top of your daily newspaper. There’s no difference in today’s prophetic America.

Next came a connecting flash of America’s largest cities and the government in total chaos, under the headline “Prophecy in Today’s America.”

This caption was followed by an array of prophecy Scripture.

My response to it all was, “Please, Ms. Fortune Teller, hold this captioned fortune telling event still, I want to copy down these Scriptures, along with the follow-up remarks.”

She promptly agreed. This fortune containing prophecy was a real mind opener.  It was the real meaning of prophecy. Scripture is God-inspired, God-breathed and profitable. (II Timothy 3:16)  And this prophecy was not given by one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever a matter of one’s own interpretation, but these men of God were moved by God’s Holy Spirit. (II Peter 1:20-21) I continued reading.

Simply put, the Bible prophecy came from God through the men who wrote it. God superintended these human authors so that using their individual personalities, they composed and recorded without error God’s Word to man. 

Now I ask you, is my afore-mentioned fortune telling event, with regard to prophecy, worth continuing? Not sure? Well, maybe I didn’t make myself clear. Let’s continue, if you please. This particular fortune was crammed full of prophecy, of things of our past, present and things to come, in regards to today’s American life style.

According to Scripture, in the last days, the characteristics of prophecy will intensify. As we see mass corruption, and a breakdown of law and tradition, people will be holding to a form of godliness and the outer semblance of it without its spiritual dynamic. We are seeing this fortune played out before our very eyes.

In (I Timothy 4:1-2) we see attacks of heresy. In (II Timothy 3:1-9) we see the perils of apostasy. (In II Timothy 4:3-4) we see a description of people who no longer are content to hear the sound teaching of the gospel and will turn to many different teachers of untruths. And in (II Peter 3:3-34) we see mockers of last days prophecy Scripture.

“OK, Ms. Fortune teller, please turn off your crystal ball, I’ve seen enough, I’ve surely gotten my money’s worth,” I said.  “Yes, your fortune telling is right on cue. We Americans are surely living in the End Times.”

There was no response, only total silence.

Wait, Ms. Fortune Teller, what’s happened? Where did you go?” I called, but there was no answer.

Well, that was it. I was back home. It was if I had never left, nor the entire carnival dream ever happened.   

Was it a dream, a vision, or a real insight from above? I’m not really sure, but the crystal ball scenario matched the Biblical accounts respecting today’s progressive socialist America perfectly.

So, what will be next, America? According to my knowledge of history, no civilization has lasted over about 250 years. Today’s America is now close to this historic ending. 

We, who claim the name of our Creator God, must take the right stand of the gospel. We must all do our part, and pray hard for our great Republic of America.  Amen!

EPILOGUE

^“if My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (II Chronicles 7:14)

So, when’s the last time you submitted a faith-based patriotic editorial to your local newspaper?   When is the last time you attended a city council meeting? When is the last time you voted? When is the last time you helped a disabled friend register to vote?

In today’s world, very few churches preach or teach end time events, surrounding Biblical prophecy. No wonder today’s American populace is so confused with current events.

Realizing, of course, the whole subject of eschatology, the study of things to come, and of prophecy, is vast and complex. It is very difficult to interpret because all parts seem to interrelate; each building upon the other. Thus, we should read them all very carefully.

And when we think the battle is almost decided against us, we shall hear the trumpet of the archangel and the voice of God. – Charles H. Spurgeon
