As I Age

As I age, I fear the future
Not for me, I feel I’m free
My prayers just thank Lord Jesus
Hanging on that cross for me

My prayers are now for others
Who do not know the way
A way God set a path for them
To meet in heaven one day

This earth is but a stepping stone
Once passed, life starts again
In Heaven we will have new life
Which somehow will not end

To get there to that new life
You need to understand
Righteousness is what you need
On earth, here, where you stand

Righteousness requires us all
To trust that God as Father
Created all things here on earth
No other God’s come after

Satan who was once with God
Was thrown down to this earth
Arrogance his downfall
And pride presumably worse

God put Adam here on earth
From his ribs, God gave a wife
Satan saw he had a chance
To cause some earthly strife

Satan sadly tricked young Eve
To eat God’s special fruit
Adam too, then took a bite
Of the fruit God said don’t eat

As soon as they ate of the fruit
Guilt just entered them
This act of disobedience
Caused sin to enter in

The sadness and the suffering
Man bears this very day
Was caused by disobedience
And now is here to stay

We are of Adam’s heritage
Born here upon this earth
Inheriting all Adam’s faults
For what it’s worth



As simple clay we have no right
To question what God plans
The Potter simply moulds the clay
And directs life with His hands

What wonder what amazing grace
God chose to give to man
An inkling of His Son’s own death
Revealing His redemptive plan

Somehow God had dead sea scrolls
Prepared for man to find
Hidden deep inside the earth
To be interpreted in time

What is man and who is man
Made from moulded clay
To be in God’s love for evermore
I find words hard to say

I can only marvel
Praise God and ask that He
Will forgive now all my weakness
Help me to bow the knee

For those who fail or fall away
Stop! Believe God’s in control
Think again, know again
In Christ you can be whole
