I’m locked in life’s vast prison
My penalty is death
I’m trying hard to understand
The reason for my test

I’m searching for my liberty
From a world so full of strife
Who will bring about my freedom?
And bring me the key to life

Who will listen to my quiet voice?
Late in the midnight hour
Praying to be rescued
By the one who has great power

The power to dry the rain
From my stormed beaten face
Power to take all my pain
And put joy in its place

Power to take the sting from death
And be freed from this life’s prison
It’s my Savior Jesus Christ
The One Who Has Risen
