DOES GOD REALLY CARE

I suddenly found myself wide awake in the middle of the night.  Or was I dreaming? I don’t rightly know. One thing I’m sure of, the message rang loud and clear within my muddled mind. It was the question, of all questions. But why me? And why now? I not only know Scripture, but I believe every word of God’s writings is surely true and correct for today’s living. 

 So, what am I to do with such a wake-up call, containing such a provocative question? After all, I’m just one of thousands of true faith-based believers, one of a host of loyal American patriots.  When and where do I need to take action?  Again, I can’t help but ponder; what is my next move?  Should it be within myself, within my family and friends, and into my local government?  Where do I start?

For starters, the obvious move is prayer and Holy Spirit-led Scripture study.  But I can’t act alone, and I surely don’t want to wake my wife.  So, do I just lie here, and anticipate my next move? Do I quietly get up and dress for the day? Or should I turn back over and go back to sleep? 

Oh, I know, I can start by lying here and praying it out. Silent prayer won’t wake my wife. But there again, prayer is always a good starter, but a question of this magnitude calls for positive action. 

Oh no, all this mumbling and I’ve yet to tell you this all-important question, presented to me in my waking hour, or in my dream. How can you get involved, how can you help, if you don’t even know the question? 

But wait a minute, what will be your reaction?  Will you pass it off as yet another of my many make-believe fiction dreams? Will you want to join in taking action? Will you tell me to shut up and go back to sleep?  And most importantly, was it a real question actually asked by our living Creator God? 

Well, I can't be sure of your reaction. After all, you may not be as into America’s real live politics as myself. You may not be a proficient prophecy buff. You may not be into the dictates of Scripture. You may not even care about our great Republic of America as I do.

If that be case, my revealing of this question may not even matter to you. But something deep inside of me is begging me to share my concern with you. So here goes the question, the main reason for this writing.

The ongoing stance of America’s liberal populace is, ”Does God really care about America’s stance on abortion and same sex union?

To answer this question correctly, we must go straight to God’s divine holy Word.  But not just yet. Here is a brief confirmation of the authenticity of the holy Scripture. 

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,” (II Timothy 3:16)

"Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never has its orgin in the human will, but prophets, through human, spoke from God as theywere carried along by the Holy Spirit."  (II Peter 1:20-21)  

Yes, the Scripture came from God through the men who wrote it. “God superintended these human authors so that using their individual personalities, they composed and recorded without error God’s Word to man. Thus, this shows the dual authorship of God’s word -- the Holy Spirit guiding and guarding the men involved in the writing.” (Dr. Charles Ryrie)

Now, we can move on to the question, Does God care about America’s stance on abortion and same sex union? The obvious answer is an overwhelming “Yes!” It’s not my word, but that of God’s holy Scripture.

Respecting abortion, the intentional murder of millions of innocent developing babies within their mothers' wombs, God’s Word is very plain. Please click on these divinely-inspired Scripture verses. (Exodus 20:13) (Mark 7:20-23) (Job 3:16) (Matthew 18:10) (Matthew 19:14) (Psalm 127:3) (Proverbs 24:11-12) (Psalm 139:13-16)

Respecting same sex union, God’s holy Word is also very plain. The Bible’s opposition to same-sex unions is anchored in God’s plan at creation for marriage (Gen 1:26-28; 2:20-24), in divine legislation (Lev 18:22; 20:13; I Cor 6:9-11), and in Jesus’ explicit confirmation of a permanent, monogamous, and heterosexual marriage relationship. (Matt 19:4-6)

Again, although I have my own personal private opinion, the obvious answer to this question is not mine alone, but is taken from our Creator God’s holy Word.

I realize that due to certain progressive socialist factions within America’s populace, the boundaries of free speech have been stretched beyond the original dictates of our founding documents, that of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution, as well as the holy Scriptures.  These divine principles of God are being challenged within society's public opinion and within the courts.

All I can do, however, is commit the situation to prayer because I love our great Republic, America, the land of the free and home of the brave.  I pray that our living Creator God, has not given up upon America, and has not placed our nation under judgment for its violations of His divine principles. 

In conclusion, I give you an excerpt from Dr. David Jeremiah’s bestselling book, The Book of Signs. "When the sun rises over Washington, D.C. each morning, its rays fall on the eastern side of the city’s tallest structure, the 555-foot-tall Washington Monument. The first part of that monument to reflect the rising sun is the eastern side of its aluminum capstone, on which the words Laus Deo are inscribed.  That’s Latin for “Praise be to God.” This prayer of praise, visible to the eyes of heaven alone, is tacit recognition of our nation’s unique acknowledgment of the place of God in its founding and its continuance.  Were these words a grandiose but empty claim to national piety, or do they reflect a true reality?"

President Ronald Reagan put it this way, “I have always believed that this anointed land was set apart in an uncommon way, that a divine plan placed this great continent here between the oceans to be found by people from every corner of the earth who had a special love of faith and freedom.”

Yes, it seems clear that God does have a plan for America. I believe that He has a sovereign purpose for America in His redemptive plan. So, pray, and pray hard. And don’t forget to put action with your prayers. Amen!

You are the master strategist. Give me a greater vision of your purpose for my life. Awaken my heart and establish your reign in my life. Out of Your glorious riches strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being and give me a spirit of wisdom and revelation that I may know you better (Ephesians 3:16-17). Make me fully alive to your destiny in my life. Amen.
