If you’re anything like me, you will sometimes break promises. ‘Oh,’ I said, ‘I’ll never watch that programme again!’ Then a couple of weeks later, there I am looking at it once more. Sadly, my ‘never’ wasn’t ‘never’.

Not so with God our Father and our precious Lord Jesus.
“All the promises of God in Him are yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God.” 2 Corinthians 1:20

If we’re going through an unsettling time, a time of testing, even a time of great loss, God gives us an absolute promise of his nearness. Much more satisfying than anything the world offers.
‘Be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will NEVER leave you nor forsake you.” ‘
