This is a message we have heard,
Proclaimed to you that God is light;
There is no darkness in the Word,
Rather it brightens your insight.

If we say we have fellowship,
But we are walking in the dark;
We do not practice, and we trip,
In the blindness where we embark.

Rather if we walk in the light,
The light is also in the Lord;
Christ cleanses to do what is right,
And for walking in one accord.

We have fellowship with others,
And His blood cleanses from all sin;
With our sisters and brothers,
That we can righteously begin.

If we say that we have no sin,
We deceive not knowing the truth;
Since we are corrupted within,
Being arrogant and uncouth.

If we are willing to confess,
He is faithful and will forgive;
To cleanse us from unrighteousness,
Enabled to righteously live.

If we say that we have not sinned,
Then we have made Him a liar;
Not spiritually disciplined,
Deceptive flames sparked a fire.
