A man who had some sort of belief in God’s truth had visited Jerusalem. Returning to his home in Ethiopia, he had a copy of the Jewish Scripture in his chariot.
God had a preacher lined up for him.

Philip, a man chosen by Jesus’ disciples, was commanded by the Holy Spirit to catch up with the Ethiopian’s chariot. When he heard him reading from Isaiah a prophecy about the coming Messiah, Philip asked him if he understood what he was reading. Of course he couldn’t.
He needed a preacher.
And he got one!
“Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.”
Acts 8:35

That’s what we need today.
Jesus.
The glories of Jesus preached to his people.
The glories and beauty of Jesus preached to the world.
Anything less is insufficient for our needs at this time.
Leave Jesus out and it’s all pointless.
There is none like Him.
He alone is sufficient for all things.
