“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” John 5: 24
How wonderful this is – to be able to hear what the Lord Jesus says and, by grace, believe in the One who has sent Him and this bringing eternal life.
Hear the Son, believe the Father and be graced with eternal life. No condemnation, no judgment. Upon death, the believer just steps into the actuality of the everlasting life that began the moment he heard and believed.
He has “already passed from death into life.” What a reality ! The believer walks this temporary, transient, temporal world as a possessor of eternal life.
No matter how much, on the earth's stage, death may seek the spotlight, the believer knows that his part is short and will soon end. The possessor of eternal life knows that the heavenly script is all about LIFE.
