About sixteen years ago I wrote a children’s song in which I have titled this devotion. I wrote it after seeing the focus on Christmas take such a drastic turn in the market place. The problems of those days were only a small prelude of what we are experiencing in this nation presently. Back then I was appalled at how retailers were making their windows with signs for X-Mas. They were leaving Christ out by placing the letter (X) in the place of His name.

I wish that was the only problem we had now. We have bent our knee not to the Jesus in the manger, but to political correctness. The Yule tide greeting “Merry Christmas” has been replaced with clauses such as “Happy Holidays and Season’s Greetings!” In the state I live in, Denver was not allowing any religious floats in the Annual Christmas Parade. We have allowed government to tell us that Santa, Christmas tree’s and presents are permissible, but anything related to the birth of Jesus is taboo.

Christmas is an American Traditional Holiday. However leaders and public contenders are still intimidated by the Christ they find in Christmas. Therefore they have taken up the cause to obliterate His name as the reason for the season. Just last night I saw a national news program where a city courthouse had displayed a Christmas tree and a Menorah next to each other. Do you think there was a Christian symbol there in celebration of the Holidays? Think again. As a distraught community member was being interviewed she promised she would not rest until it was resolved. Anyway, where does the name Christian come from? The same Christ who is in Christmas!

The antics of such an opposed and depraved society have taken “Peace, goodwill towards men” out of the season. They have combated themselves to wipe out the entire meaning of Christmas by trying to erase the name of Jesus. In the book of Isaiah we hear the Lords declaration:

"For My own sake, I will act; For how can My Name be profaned?

My glory I will not give to another.

(Isaiah 48:11)



Wake up America! God is not going to tarry long when it comes to our political correct minds. He rightly deserves the glory of Christmas. The King of Glory came to earth by way of a virgin. He was wrapped up in rags and his crib was a manger. Such a humble place for such a Mighty God!

I will continue to bow my knee in honor of the One who gives us a reason to celebrate Christmas. I will not give into politicians, peers, or propagators of discriminatory accusations. You will never hear me say, “Happy Holidays, Seasons Greetings, or Happy Santa Clause Day or even Happy Mas. My dear friends, I wish you a warm, blessed and very Merry Christmas!
