PECULIAR PEOPLE

There is an old worn out saying that emphasizes “THE MORE THINGS CHANGE THE MORE THEY REMAIN THE SAME”. If one pays attention to history and present societal ways, he will understand the saying is very true, and this applies to those who may identify as a Christian, as well as the organized churches.

The world today is so engrossed in sports and entertainment as a distraction from the world around them and keeping up with the Joneses in their lust for the acquisition of wealth, fame, and materialistic goods that all else is abandoned and placed in a lower order of importance, including the God which they claim to worship.

The book of Hosea in the Old Testament is a testimony of such a society and its abandonment of God’s laws and commandments for the world and it’s traditions of false gods and idol worship, and is also a reflection of today’s Christian society and the many various Christian churches which abound in every town and city claiming to honor God, doing His will, and yet the society around them is crumbling and falling deeper into the cesspool of decadence, immorality, perversion of the lowest order, violent crimes, divorce, homelessness, and I could go on, but civil society is collapsing around them at an increasingly downward spiral, and many do not see or understand because of their blindness of adherence to the traditions of man and his society of putting the God of creation last, if at all.

Hosea 4:13-14 They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom, and your spouses shall commit adultery.14 I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.

When a person or a society has given into following man’s ways, traditions, idols, and ignoring the laws, commandments, and will of God, then God abandons them to wallow and die in their sins and traditions until the world around them has disintegrated into chaos destroying them and their society. These are the ones which do not understand or will not understand because of their unrelenting faith and adherence to tradition instead of truth.

We as a supposedly, Christian nation have descended into the same state of which the ancient 10 tribes of Israel had descended for abandoning God’s ways, and those who understand God’s word and His will for His people, can only warn, and watch as those blinded by tradition and ways of the world collapse into chaos and destruction.

God said His people, if they obeyed His voice, keeping His commandments would be a peculiar people. Exodus 19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

Anything peculiar will stand out from everything else around them and will be noticed as different. Several verses of scripture confirms that Gods people are to be separated from the traditions and ways of man; Deuteronomy 14:2, Titus 2:14 and 1st Peter 2:9 which states, but ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Are you, claiming to be a Christian, peculiar to the world around you?
Do you stand out as different, odd to others, by not conforming to their world of sin and worldly pleasures?

Paul went on to add to this in Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The vast majority calling themselves Christian and claiming to honor God and His word are blindly following the traditions and commandments of man, simply because it is the way they were taught and therefore it must be the correct path, because the pastor said so.

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Sadly, most adhere to this line of thinking because they themselves will not study God’s word for themselves, to find the truth. It’s much easier to follow the majority and not be called out as a legalist, religious extremist, or cult follower.

Very few churches are preaching the gospel of sin, repentance, and obedience to God’s laws as this would be offensive to many and would impact the finances of the organization. The mantra seems to be “Don’t Rock the Boat”, follow the politically correct path of least resistance.

May I ask, “How is that working out for society?” or better yet how does God feel about it?

Deuteronomy 5:29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children forever!

Folks, you may disagree with this commentary and some of my other writings, and that is fine, and we can still be friends, but when you disagree with God and His word, then God is not fine with it.

I believe we are in the final countdown and could possibly be entering into the time of major upheaval, chaos, societal breakdown, war, famine, evil atrocities of which we cannot imagine, and as Jesus and Daniel prophesied, a time of trouble such as never was or ever shall be again, and Jesus even said He would cut it short or no flesh would survive,

Mark 13:19,20 19 For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be. (Dan 12:1 Matt 24:21 22) 20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.

Today you must choose, God’s word and ways, or man’s word and traditions.

The choice is yours, CHOOSE WISELY
