Inescapable Fact
Here in the UK we are all saddened by the death of our Queen Elizabeth II.
Her passing is a solemn reminder of the truth of God’s statement:
“It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.” Hebrews 9:27
Throughout our lives every one of us has appointments - medical, social, employment, educational and the like. And every one of us can choose not to keep them. Or we forget about them.
But not one person on the face of the Earth can avoid God’s appointment. Someone may be powerful, rich, influential, famous, and so on, but no ability or status or possessions can devise a way of escape from that divine fixture.
How wonderful and precious is the Gospel. The Good News.
Jesus underwent God’s judgment in our place!
“When He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness.” 1 Peter 2:23, 24.
