Worthiness Comes From Jesus-Not Works of the Flesh

 To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his call, and may fulfil every good resolve and work of faith by his power. 2 Thessalonians 1:11RSV

I remind myself, as a follower of Jesus, my resolve is not from my reasoning. Nor am I to think my resources and strength are better than God’s abiding Holy Spirit for my sufficiency.

When I spend the first portion of my day listening (in prayer), I’m recognizing my agenda for the day rests upon God’s preeminence.

The measure of faith assigned to me cf: Romans 12:3, equips me with the ‘Right Stuff’ as the saying goes. To ‘dedicate’ the day for His honor. ‘Walking by faith,’ is recognizing the ‘Power of His Presence’ to lead.

I learned through my working years, a confidence to the tasks before me because of His presence. Things would turn out better to my amazement. There were times God had something better than what my reasoning might have been. To ‘Pray Constantly.’ I had many moments through the quiet of my heart.

To be worthy of His call,was learning to ‘Let go, in order to listen to God!’ My work habits became more fulfilling, than thinking, “I don’t need to bother God about this or that.”  

His cleansing my soul, is only part of the picture. Daily experiences in His power, is measuring out what I’m saying to others through my actions from faith.

  For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. 2 Corinthians 4:5

‘Thank you Father for leading me through your power.’
