Well Pleased

“You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Mark 1:11
God the Father spoke these words to Jesus before He had begun his ministry of teaching, healing, and saving sinners.
There can only be one reason why God could be well pleased with Jesus at that point. It was certainly not because Jesus had done some miracle or taught anything. No. The Father was well pleased with his beloved Son because for 30 years He had lived without ever sinning once! Just imagine that when He, like us, was surrounded with a host of temptations. 
"For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin." Hebrews 4:15
Praise the name of Jesus!
He was indeed the spotless Lamb of God.
Praise the Lord that John the Baptist had that glorious revelation.
"The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, ‘Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!’” John 1:29
