I write to you chosen lady,
Whom in truth I love so dear.
In the truth there’s nothing shady,
Which we in the Lord need fear.

God’s holy truth lives within us,
And within your children too.
His truth ever will be with us
That the devil can’t undo.

Grace, mercy, peace from God above,
And from Jesus His dear Son
Be with you all in truth and love,
For in these we are made one.

It gives me such great joy to find
Your children walk in God’s truth.
His truth does every Christian bind,
And not only Christian youth.

His command from the beginning
Is that we love each other.
Its not new, but old as sinning
That each one loves his brother.

You love them by the way you walk
In obedience to God.
You love as you obey and talk
In ways pleasing unto God.

There are so many deceivers
Who have gone into the world.
They are clearly not believers,
But have a false flag unfurled.

They deny that the Lord Jesus
Has in flesh come to us here.
They never cease to deceive us,
So from their falsehood stay clear.

So watch out that you do not lose
All that you have labored for.
Stick with what you’ve been taught and choose
To love all you’ve loved before.

Without Christ one does not have God
But with Him you have it all.
Don’t ever give a friendly nod
If deceivers come to call.

If those come without this teaching,
And deny Father and Son,
Listen to what I am preaching
Lest you be to evil won.

Do not welcome them to your home
Lest you in their works do share.
Be steady and don’t ever roam,
And of all their lies beware.

I have so much to write to you,
But not with paper and ink
Instead I hope to visit you
So that face to face we link.
