Give an ear to my teaching,
Incline your ear to the Word;
To what my mouth is preaching,
Adhering to what is heard.

I tell you a parable,
Uttering dark tales of old;
Of things that were terrible,
That our fathers have told.

Things that we have heard and known,
That our fathers have said;
Of the things the Lord has shown,
We should be doing instead.

From the children not to hide,
Future generations show;
Glorious deeds bonafide,
And wonders that always grow.

Because the Lord and His might,
And wonders that have been done;
Are able to give insight,
Ever since time had begun.

He gave a testimony,
While appointing a Law;
For teaching what is phony,
In obviating a flaw.

So our fathers must teach,
That the next generation;
Being able to outreach,
A child declaration.

They should set their hopes in God,
Not forgetting all His deeds;
Abide to honor and laud,
And He will supply your needs.

Be faithful with steadfast love,
Not rebellious and stubborn;
Think about Heaven above,
On earth while you sojourn.
