WHITER THAN SNOW

Christmas, Winter, Snow.
Well known seasonal features in the northern hemisphere. All would agree that there is something very special about the first white snow scene of the season. Nothing is more pure.
In his great confession after his sins of adultery and murder, King David cried out to God for forgiveness.
“Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.” Psalm 51:7.
Not ‘And I shall be white as snow’.
No. Much more than that.
I shall be whiter than snow!

In the natural realm nothing can be whiter than snow.
But in the spiritual realm, David could see that God could not only forgive him, but God could cleanse him to a supernatural degree. Through the precious blood of Jesus, all his sins could be obliterated and he could stand before his Maker cleaner than clean.
Praise the Lord that today He can supernaturally clean sinners like you and me!
“Whiter than snow.”

I like the old Gospel song by Eden Reeder Latta:

“Blessed be the Fountain of blood,
To a world of sinners revealed;
Blessed be the dear Son of God -
Only by His stripes we are healed.
Tho’ I’ve wandered far from His fold,
Bringing to my heart pain and woe,
Wash me in the blood of the Lamb,
And I shall be whiter than snow.”
