Is Sin Extinct?

How did John the Baptist begin his ministry?
‘John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!”’ Matthew 3:1-2.

How did Jesus begin his ministry?
‘From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”’ Matthew 4:17.

How did Jesus end his earthly ministry?
He said, “It was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations.” Luke 24:46, 47.

Why did both men give repentance such priority?
Simple reason.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3: 23.
“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” 1 Timothy 1:15.

If we exclude sin and repentance from our witness, our preaching, and our churches, then we are disobeying Jesus!
We are making sin extinct.

Short, Sweet and to the point. I have been saying this for years. Had a Pastor get very angry at me for telling him he needed to preach on sin and repentance, to step on toes, but he never did. it was all about feel good entertaining speeches, not sermons.
