In a story only a farcical news sight could make up, but literally happened, on the same day the United States pulled funding for Israel’s Iron Dome, a fire broke out atop the Superdome in New Orleans, LA.

As reported earlier today, the United States gave in to a provision that forced out funding for Israel’s Iron Dome. House Democrats were forced to remove the provision totaling $1 billion for the Iron Dome because of pushback by the party’ far left members Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI).

The three Democrats refused to vote for the bill, that would keep the government funded and raise the debt ceiling, if it included the $1 billion funding for the Iron Dome, which caused the Rules Committee to go into recess. The Democrats removed the provision in order to pass the measure. The Iron Dome was on display earlier this year knocking down Hamas rockets fired into Israel during a long stretch of fighting between Hamas and the Jewish state. The funding was to replace the missiles used during that violent outbreak in May.  

Separately, the roof of the Superdome, home of the NFL’s New Orleans Saints caught fire today resulting in the injury of one person. The reportedly three-alarm fire broke out while the roof was being water pressured in preparation for painting. The stadium is undergoing repairs and renovations after Hurricane Ida hit in late August.

Coincidentally, Hurricane Ida hit hours after President Joe Biden met with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett to discuss the 2015 Nuclear deal with Iran that President Donald Trump had backed off of. And, coincidentally again, President George Bush on Aug. 22, 2005 voiced approval for a two-state solution to Israel and Palestine. The next day Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans.

The Iron Dome provision was removed this morning with the Superdome fire being seen at 1 p.m. (EST).
