Strangely Dim

Things are interesting. They always have been. In the Garden of Eden, fruit was interesting to Eve - and Adam. Such simple things became their disaster.
Nothing much has changed. Much of humanity today is fascinated and even obsessed with things.
MUST HAVE
Remember that slogan of years ago to encourage us to buy things?

How do we resist things? Unnecessary, unhelpful, even harmful things?
“Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus…” Hebrews 12:1, 2
Yes. Jesus is the perfect answer. Jesus is the perfect remedy. “Looking unto Jesus!”

I am reminded of a chorus we used to sing in an Elim church in England many years ago:
     ‘Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
      Look full in his wonderful face,
      And the things of earth
      Will grow strangely dim
      In the light of his glory and grace.’
