Testimonies
I am sure you figured out that I just finished watching the movie Pay It Forward. And, frankly, it was a great movie with a powerful message. A message often missed by the world and sadly often missed by the Church.
I have to admit it was a really convicting experience for me to watch the movie.
I mean, how often have I paid it forward? Not much. I have more often than not chicken out, or worried about what someone might think of me.
Think about it, God forgave me for everything, I mean EVERYTHING, through the sacrific of Jesus, that I ever did against him and anyone else. There is nothing I can do to pay that back to God in any way, no matter how hard I try. (And trust me I have tried.) Our only option it to pay it forward. And that is what he calls us to do.
God drags me out of the gutter of alcoholism, Internet pornography, meaninglessness, depression, and self hatred. And rather than paying it forward by telling others about Jesus and the wonder that he worked in my life, I chicken out and worry more about meaningless things like losing a friend or a job or being thought of as weird.
I just watched a movie about a kid, who was not a Christian, who gave his life for his belief that he could change the world. Yet, I have the very truth of God in my heart. The one thing that can really change the world in a real way. And I sit on it out of fear. How pathetic is that?
Well, Lord Jesus, I am sorry. I will pay it forward. So if you are reading this and you are a Christian, I have one question for you. Are you paying forward the love and forgiveness that God has offered you?
And if you are not a Christian, Jesus loves you! Jesus gave his life for you. Jesus is bigger than anything you have done. Jesus can and will heal your life, if you ask him.
If you don't think God will help you or that He can help you or that He exists, then what do you have to losing in asking Jesus to come into your life and help you.
God will help you if you ask Him sincerely. Again, what have you got to lose.
Ask Jesus for help. Don't put it off. He loves you and wanted to have a relationship with you. Give him a chance.
