Fight with Faith

There is so much we deal with in the flesh; financial crises, emotional issues, health issues, family issues. It’s a big deal! Sadly, we may be tempted to become judgemental toward God during times of adversity — tempted to ask, “Why did the Lord allow it to happen to a believer” or “why did it happen to me when I stood firm believing nothing would go wrong?”  Still, we know in the flesh we’re not qualified to judge God over what he does or does not allow in our lives.

Sometimes adversity is due to the carnal decisions we make, other times it happens so the Lord can reveal his power. Once, Jesus came upon a man born blind.  His disciples wondered who was to blame.  Jesus said no one — “but that the works of God should be manifest in him,” (John 9:1-3 KJV).

So adversity carries powerful spiritual tests.  What is our role? To rejoice! Sounds odd, doesn’t it? If someone is suffering from debt, or has received a negative heath report, how can he possibly rejoice? Well, a man of faith can. He fights “the good fight of faith” when it makes no sense.  He looks “…not at the things that are seen, but at the things which are not seen…” (2^nd Corinthians 4:18 KJV).    He knows reports may not be good, but fear not — God is the Healer.  When in debt, no worries — God is the Provider.

Jesus often said “Your faith has made you well”.  Healing came when people believed He could restore them. Do we put a similar trust in Jesus?  Once we believe in His power, we enter His rest whatever the outcome may be, and rejoice even during times of severe trial. Isn’t that amazing!  We “fight the good fight of faith” but we still rest in Him. It’s all in the spiritual realm. 

Let’s allow God to show his power in every situation of life while we “Fight the good fight of faith,” (1 Timothy 6:12 KJV).
