A Short Reflection on Aiming

     Aiming at our target and keeping that aim as we pursue the target. As I found out in the military, this is easier said than done. When I set about our commission from our Lord, I saw a potential target and, at times, lost track of them. As I practiced and practiced, I became much better at keeping my aim. A friend informed me a while back that he could get me more followers on my Christian Facebook page. I thought about it a moment, then replied, "My aim is not to get more followers for myself, it is to get more followers for our Lord, Jesus Christ. In other words, We practice aiming at disciples for Him. Let's keep our aim on our commission.

     I am in the process of rewriting the entire middle of a nine-page short story, due to my not keeping my aim on my commission while writing the story. I was aiming at followers for me - not for our Lord. My goal in writing part I and part II of "Short in Height, Tall in Courage" (part II coming soon) is to show the secular world that serving God can be much more exciting than serving secular idols. One of my inspirations is the online series, "Chosen," a well-done tale of the life of Christ and his disciples. The writing of action-adventure stories for God takes much more focus than throwing out blood, guts, and sex. Actually, the stories, from my military experience, are closer to the truth than all the secular stories/movies I have read and viewed. You can let your children read these tales, and you can be assured that the stories will have good Christian values within, and they are based on real events and human emotions and reactions from my wartime experiences. I write for God because nothing and nobody can be more exciting than our God that is, was, and forever shall be and created all things. The Bible is full of action-adventure stories. Many contain epic tales of, supposedly, impossible events, but with God, nothing is impossible. Let's keep our aim - for Him.
