God can speak through all things if we would only have ears to hear.

Even through a tube of suntan lotion!

Another day of struggling with the battle for the mind was occurring. It is so easy to listen to the world view when difficulties arise. It sounds true, full of authority, but it can have the power to crush us with negative thoughts that dampen the Spirit of God.

As I write we are in the middle of a lock down due to the coronavirus, and it is difficult to see a way through. I had read the news, and felt the hopelessness of the situation. I felt the familiar sense of anxiety rising within me once again.

My eyes were averted to a tube of suntan lotion placed on the shelf and I read the words, MAX BLOCK, and immediately felt God was speaking to me, cutting through the negativity to bring His light into my darkness.

‘My child, you need to protect your mind as well as your skin! I have provided the protection you need through my armour. Put it on, and stand firm in My Son. The battle is mine, you need only be still.’  (Eph 6:10-17) (Exodus 14:14)

At first I thought it funny that God could use a tube of suntan lotion to speak. But then I was reminded that He who has the control of the whole world, once spoke through a donkey’s mouth, of all things, and will use anything to get our attention. (Numbers 22:28)

I had to play my part in putting on the full armour of God, taking captive every thought, making it obedient to Christ, (2 Cor 10:5) and protecting my whole being by clothing myself in Christ. God would do the rest.

Don’t we all need maximum protection from the world’s wisdom, and the enemy of our souls? How easy is it to allow negative thoughts to invade our minds? It’s not easy to constantly be aware of how our thoughts are feeding our souls. We get distracted, and before we know it, we are on the downward spiral.

But with the Spirit’s help, and by constantly feeding our minds on the Truth, the Word of God, we will become more discerning in recognising when wrong thoughts are entering our minds.

Remember. MAX BLOCK. All over God protection. Then we can be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. (Ephesians 6:1)
