There is something about doors that I love. All doors are entrance ways into something.  When I happen to venture out of my country home and find myself amongst new areas, I am usually trying to take everything in. My eyes seem to always be looking for different style doors. Why? My mind loves welcoming factors and is usually taking in all the details of my surroundings. What about you?! Have you ever noticed how many different styles, colors, and sizes that there are for doors? One of my favorite doors is one that I discovered on a home while I was walking along Sail Bay, near Pacific Beach, San Diego California. This unique, arched styled double door looked like the door to a castle- yes, of course I wanted to walk through it! But I did not because I did not know the owners or have an invitation to do so.

As I pondered doors…the word sunk down deep within. I began to freshly marvel once again at how God opens doors in our lives. We usually know or can tell that it is an open door from God when we have no choice but to rely on Him. When it is an open door, you know that it is God who is really at work to align it with His will. The Holy Spirit will give you an uneasy feeling if He wants you to keep a door closed. Some will try to do things in the arm of the flesh.  We need to keep knocking on the Lord’s door. Sometimes the door can be just barely cracked open and it may be that we need to keep persevering in prayer. When the time is right, He will fully open the door. If He closes the door, it is for our protection. The Holy Spirit will guide your life and will never compromise or contradict His Word.

The Bible has some things to say about doors. This morning I was so refreshed by Revelation 3:8 “I know your works and what you are doing. See! I have set before you a door wide open which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept My Word and guarded My message and have not renounced or denied My name.” Notice what it said about “our little power”, yet we understand that the Holy Spirit is THE POWER!  Let us look at more scripture on doors and prayerfully ask and seek the doors of opportunity that God may want to open for us. Join me!

Isaiah 22:22 – I will give him the key to the house of David – the highest position in the royal court. When he opens doors, no one will be able to close them; when he closes doors, no one will be able to open them.

2 Corinthians 2:12 – When I came to the city of Troas to preach the Good News of Christ, the Lord opened a door of opportunity for me.

Colossians 4:3 – And at the same time pray for us also, that God may open a door to us for the Word to proclaim the mystery concerning Christ on account of which I am in chains.

1 Corinthians 16: 9-10 For a wide door of opportunity for effectual service has opened to me and many adversaries. When Timothy arrives, see to it that he may be fearless among you, for he is doing the Lord’s work, just as I am.

Acts 14: 27 Arriving there, they gathered the church together and declared all that God had accomplished with them and how He had opened to the Gentiles a door of faith.

Matthew 7:7-8 “Continue to ask, and God will give to you. Continue to search, and you will find. Continue to knock, and the door will open for you. Yes, whoever continues to ask will receive. Whoever continues to look will find. And whoever continues to knock will have the door opened for them.

Acts 16:25-26 But about midnight, as Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly here was a great earthquake, so the very foundations of the prison were opened; and at once all the doors were opened and everyone’s shackles were unfastened.

Revelation 3:20-21 Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears and listens to and heeds My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and will eat with him, and he with Me. He who overcomes I will grant him to sit beside Me on My throne, as I Myself overcame and sat down beside My Father on His throne.

John 10:9 “I am the Door; anyone who enters in through Me will be saved. He will come in and he will go out and find pasture.

John 10:2-3 But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. The watchman opens the door for this man and the sheep listen to his voice and heed it; and he calls his own sheep by name and brings them out.

John 10:7 So Jesus said again, “I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that I Myself am the Door for the sheep.
