When God spoke to Moses about Egypt, He made it understandable from the start,
To show His Power and glory He was going to harden Pharaoh's heart.
Because Pharaoh refused to let the Israelite people totally free,
God decided to assign ten foul plagues on Egypt that He would oversee.
God ordered Aaron to touch the River Nile with his ancient staff,
The waters were turned to blood while the Pharaoh took stock and gasped.
The fish in the river died and they couldn't quench their nagging thirst,
Pharaoh's anger was apparent as he paced up and down and cursed.
The Egyptians were hoping the heavens would produce an abundant flood,
But they received nothing, and digging springs just produced pools of blood.
God instructed Moses to tell Pharaoh who was with his advisors in dialogue,
He will smite all your land and personal dwelling with large frogs,
Because you still will not change your stubborn hardened heart,
Everything that you do and own will drastically fall apart.
Even when God turned the dust into gnats causing the magicians dread,
They cursed the Lord abundantly and Pharaoh turned his back instead.
Next, He plagued Egypt with flies in all the dwellings and on the ground,
But to make God's people distinct in Goshen, not a fly was buzzing around.
God then struck and killed all of Egypt's livestock out in the field,
And even though many died in Goshen, Pharaoh heart would still not yield.
The pharaoh, his servants, the Egyptians and even their livestock,
developed boils on their bodies and many couldn’t stand becoming crock.
There were even boils on the Pharaoh's feet which were painfully afflicted,
Even a physician in Pharaoh's court couldn’t have seen or predicted.
With hail, God struck down all that was in the field that had breath,
And He followed with a plague of locusts to ingest all that was left.
Hail struck down all the crops in the fields and shattered every tree.
Hail storms were unusual in arid regions such as Egypt they did agree.
Since Pharaoh refused to obey due to his heart's increasing hardness,
God provided light in Goshen and blanketed Egypt in complete darkness.
Then Pharaoh offered to set the Israelites free if the cattle stay,
But the Israelites needed them for sacrifice so they refused to obey.
About midnight God decreed that all the firstborn of Egypt shall die,
The children in the palace, not one will be spared if you don’t comply.
Even the firstborn of the Pharaoh's livestock were targeted and killed,
The feeling of utter confusion and despair by now was deeply instilled.
Pharaoh finally bowed the knee in Egypt to Gods Uplifted Hand,
This caused Him to expel the Israelites out of his wicked land.
By the time the Israelites left Egypt, they were satisfied with God’s plan.
God’s protection and love for them proved He was forever the journeyman.
Sadly, many people still failed to believe which led to further denial,
The result for many and the other nations was fear of the God of Israel.
Even after the tenth plague Pharaoh once again hardened his heart,
Sending armed soldiers after the Israelites in golden chariot carts.
When God opened a way through the Red Sea for the Israelites they drowned,
all of Pharaoh’s armies there were swallowed up by the sea all around.
The power of Egypt was crushed and the fear of God spread through the land,
This was the very purpose that God had declared at the beginning and planned.
