The Desert ️
Why did God's people go down to Egypt and why did they stay so long, 400 years. Could part of the reason be, that if they would have stayed where they were, in the land of Canaan, they would not have been a nation they might have intermarried and broken up or dispersed. As a people in another nation, the twelve held together and came out millions strong in four hundred years.
Why four hundred years. This might be important to see in this day and age. God tells Abraham that, “In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure" Genesis 15:16. The living Bible states, “for the sins of the Amorites do not yet warrant their destruction.” One interpretation could be that God is telling Abraham, you guys are not coming back to this land your land until the sins of the Amorites have reached such a level, that God then will have the right and will be morally justified to take their land and life and give it to another people. Has there come another time in history when the behavior of a people and nation has wondered so far from God that God has to intervene. Has the time of the Gentiles ran it's course, Romans 11:25& Luke 21:24.
Is there any correlation between the conditions of God's people living in Egypt then and God's people living in difficult conditions of today. Has the straw been taken away from us making the lives of God's people more and more difficult living in this land. Was and is, America a chosen land for God and for God's people? Did God chose this land to raise up a nation of those loved by God and those that love God. Did our ancestors fulfill that goal. Is it four hundred years to this exact year that the children of God living under difficult conditions fled a land and came to a temporary promise land. Was it in 1620, 400 years ago this very year that the Pilgrims came to America, escaping religious and political oppression. Are we living under religious, moral and political oppression today as they were then.
A question that could be raised, will we wander in the desert for 40 years.
Was there plagues from God that the people in Egypt endured both tares and wheat, sheep, and goats. Do we see any signs today that we could say that they too are possibly coming from God as a warning to its people, tornadoes, hurricanes floods, fires, economic difficulties, job loss, depression, loss of hope, viruses, plague, political strife, violence, division, race, gender, family, religion, police. Are we a special nation, a chosen land, God's chosen people and will God not watch over His creation as God has done all throughout history the ones He loves, the apple of His eye and see them through this too. Was Egypt a nation where the Pharaoh was god and the people worshiped man. Is our nation a nation that now worships man and man is their God. Do we need God. Do we kneel and bow down to God or to man. Do we look up to God or do we look down to man. Plus who is going to see us through this dark time in history, God or man. What is the way out of Egypt through man or the Creator. Man seems to be making things worse, just watch the news.
Did God speak to Moses as He is wanting to Speak to us today as found in Exodus 14:13-15, “And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” And the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward." (To the promise Land)
As God's people came up out of Egypt and 12 spies went into the promised land did some even the majority 10 say that the giants were too big to conquer. Only two said God is with us, that the fruit is beyond one's imagination. They showed them how large the grapes were. Could the promise Land be a very special place as America has been for us for 400 years and now. Is man trying to rip it right out of our hands this very special place that God and our ancestors have made. Is there darkness behind all of this as it was when Israel was under slavery. A question could be asked again, will we wander in the desert for 40 years or will we cross over within a week seven days into the promised Land, the Kingdom of God. With a King, not a dictator. With justice, not corruption. With honesty, not deception. With Love Godly love perfect Love innocent love unconditional love, not hate or anger.
Moses did not lead God's people into the promised land for striking the rock and not speak to it for water. It seems that President Trump also will not lead his people into the promise Land possibly because of his behavior. Let God speak to us, Jesus lead us and the Spirit of God Guide us as we travel out of Egypt into the promised Land. Let us keep our eyes on God and not look down. Let us have pride in what our ancestors have accomplished for the last 400 years. Let us not give up but hold on to God and to God's Word to us. Hold it tight, hold God tight for God is Love, John 4:8. “Thy Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven”, Matthew 6:10. God may You speak kindly to Your people and people may we speak to kindly to our God with great Love. God give us courage to look at the giants in our way to the promise Land with Your Love, wisdom and understanding to say “no we can face the giants and not wander in the desert”.
