I recently posted an article on this site, titled A CRYPTIC PASSAGE. Well, here is another one, recorded in all 3 of the synoptic gospels:

Matthew 16:28 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

28 “Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”

Mark 9:1 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

The Transfiguration

9 And Jesus was saying to them, “Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God after it has come with power.”

Luke 9:27 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

27 But I say to you truthfully, there are some of those standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.”

If Jesus is referring in these verses to the establishment of His kingdom by His crucifixion, His descent to hell, His resurrection from the dead, His ascension to heaven and His exaltation to sitting at the right "hand" of God the Father in 30 AD, then why does He say that only "some" and not most of those present would then be alive? After all, He said these words just a year or two before. My great Reformed hero, R. C. Sproul, who was way more of a Preterist (Google that for its meaning) than I am, linked these verses to these:

30 Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

Sproul thought that the prophecies of Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 were nearly all completed by the destruction of Jerusalem and Herod's temple by Titus and his Roman armies in 70 AD. So, he interpreted the first 3 verses above, as also relating to 70 AD: that the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of Redeemed True Israel, came with great power when King Jesus allowed the Kingdom of Satan, the Kingdom of Unredeemed False Israel, to be destroyed. To that extent, I agree with Sproul. This interpretation makes far more sense that only "some" of those alive a year or two before 30 AD would be alive in 70 AD. However, I take it even further than Sproul, who perhaps believed as many Reformed people do, that Satan was bound in hell at the crucifixion. I believe that Satan and all those demons that were not disobedient for 120 years before Noah's 600th year (see my article, ANOTHER 120 YEAR COUNTDOWN TO GOD'S SECOND DAY OF WRATH) were bound in hell in 70 AD, just as the unbelieving Jews, the "synagogue of Satan" (Rev. 2:9; 3:9), were bound in their dispersion and then hell also in 70 AD. Clearly, as one reads the Acts of the Apostles, there was Satanic and demonic activity in Apostolic times. And binding Satan and the demons in hell exactly 40 years after 30 AD is prophetic of them being bound in hell again for eternity after the 40 centuries of Israel, 1970 BC to 2030 AD. Of course they were released from hell, I believe, in 1910, 120 years before the 6000th year (after 14 billion, without macro evolution).

So, the Kingdom of God did come in 30 AD (Matthew 3:2, etc.) but it also came in 70 AD in a powerful and prophetic way as the Kingdom of Satan suffered a crushing defeat, as Satan and the unbound demons were sent to hell. For 1840 years, Satan and the demons could no longer "deceive the nations" (Rev. 18:23; 20:3, 8). Genesis 3:15 says:

And I will put enmity

Between you and the woman,

And between your seed and her seed;

He shall bruise you on the head,

And you shall bruise him on the heel.

Satan's "head" was bruised and Jesus' "heel" was bruised in 30 AD. But Satan's "head" was even more bruised in 70 AD. And Satan's "head" will be even more bruised again in 2030 AD.
