Are We One Step Closer To The Mark of the Beast?

The Bible has prophesied in Revelation 13:16-18 that a time would come when a world leader will “cause all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, and he provides that no one will be able to buy or sell, except the one who has the mark...666.”

     That time is rapidly approaching. Revelation is no longer a book of prophecies that will happen some time long after we are dead and gone. Those prophecies are in the process of being fulfilled now!

     Not only are they being fulfilled now, but they are being fulfilled literally. There are those who like to spiritualize them, but to anyone who recognizes how current events are unfolding and knows what Scripture teaches, the literalness should be quite obvious. Furthermore, this is the first generation in all of history when the technology has developed to make the Mark of the Beast possible.

     There is a difference in opinion regarding whether the Mark will be a chip implant, but many believe it will be. The way things are shaping up it very well could be. Consider the following quote from Prophecy News Watch:
”Amazon is in the early stage of developing technology that essentially turns your hand into a credit card.” It is working with VISA on terminals making it possible for consumers to “link their card information to their hands.” (Edited 4/21: This is now being implemented in several stores in Seattle.)

     Now put this together with transhumanism, which is the science of linking and enhancing the human body with technology.

     Chip implants are already being used by thousands of employees in several corporations worldwide, including one in the United States. They could become so common and practical that one article I came across suggested that employees may have to eventually choose between having an implant or giving up their job.

     Implants are coming to be recognized as a convenience, and for security and identity. About the size of a pill and as quick as getting a shot, Dr. Stewart Southey, Chief Medical Officer at Biohax International, stated on Fox News, “the chip is a secure way of ensuring that a person’s digital identity is linked to their physical identity. It enables access management in a way that protects individual self-sovereignty and allows users to control the privacy of their online activity.”

    It also has benefits for patients and medical personnel because information can be stored on a chip.

     The bottom line is that if chip implants become the Mark of the Beast, and seeing that they are becoming widely recognized for reasons mentioned above, it shows how Revelation prophecy is being fulfilled right down to the letter.
