What to Do with a Revelation

Kind of Revelations
Revelations from God can come in various forms. I tend to flow in dreams and/or night visions as well as discerning of spirits – that being demons, angels or the Holy Spirit. I have a friend who flows in day visions and it is mostly for inner healing or destiny purposes. She has very little discernment. One of my former mentors frequently got impressions for intercession for the nation.

That is the seer end of the spectrum. I am not going to get into the auditory side of God because typically it is pretty straight forward.

Symbolism and Angels
Images within dreams, visions, and impressions tend to be complex especially if there is symbolism. Even if you discern an angel or a demon, you still need to interpret what is going on and what you need to do in response. Intimacy is always required in ministry.

I was once at a large conference where a woman got permission to share a vision. She said she saw a large angel in the room. She didn’t say what kind of angel it was or what it was doing. Clearly, this is entry level prophecy, but it was the best anyone knew what to do. She did not give understanding or application. And we wonder why things aren’t happening in our spheres.

There are different kinds of angels including ministering, warrior and arch (like Daniel saw). There are even more, so it is not helpful to simply say there was an angel in the room. There are always angels in the room where there are Believers.

Seated with Christ
I tend to hear the swish of angel’s wings while people are praying. Do I need to interrupt the service to announce that revelation? No, it just reminds me that we are seated with Christ in heavenly places, and I can agree with those prayers. At those times I start boldly saying, “Amen.” It is encouragement that we are on target.

I tend to see demons in people’s eyes. Yes, this is creepy, but these days I usually know what demons they are. Mostly, because I have either been trained to discern them and this has required that they be on me at least three day. Sometimes I can easily discern them because I once had that demon.

New Identity
People who are not so fluent in the spirit-world get skittish when you talk about demons. I would say that these people probably need deliverance the mos. Those spirits are afflicting them with fear and manifesting.

It is a challenge to convince some people of demons existence because some people have placed a lot of their identity on particular demons. It is as if they think those thoughts are their thoughts. Retraining thoughts to line up with God’s Word can be challenging but also lead to transformation in time.

Freedom
When I was healed of trauma, I learned that I am much more extroverted than I thought. I can handle more people interaction, but I am still an introvert by design. God thinks it is quite okay for me to spend more time writing or drawing then to have me out and about talking with people. He’s got a call for me.

Honestly, the deeper revelation of the rabbit holes of darkness that God shows me in this world, the more I respect and love God. His humility, care, joy, and friendliness become more evident.

I always thought that seeing that stuff was too painful but that was the spirit of trauma speaking. At this point in my walk, seeing evil just draws me closer to God. He is so good. People say as the dark gets darker the light shines brighter. That is truth.

His Presence
Sensing God's presence is one of the best things about knowing God. He is in an atmsophere of joy, peace, and purity.

I remember studying Carivaggio and Rembrandt in Art History. Those are two painters that emphasize shadows cast by bright light. That is how I see the world today. God is in the focus with his illumination and satan is in the black shadows doing his deeds. Satan's work amplifies God's beauty. God is the Master painter and He gets to shine the light on what is really going on and what is most important. Yet, Satan's activities point to that as well.

Healing
Sometimes I have gotten revelation on healing for people. That is not my main flow. I tend to use Henry Wright’s material to see if something resonates with the disease a person claims to have. I sometimes reveal the demonic activity but for the most part it is undercover. I just pray for the things I see. 

If I have been healed of something then I tend of have faith for another to be healed of that. But

Atmospheres and the Global Chess Board
I tend to focus on atmospheres and global activity and interceding for particular leaders. Those are the things that excite me at this time.

Though at times people like to drag me into inner healing or deliverance. Mainly, I just tell people their word from God to stand on for healing and in time that will happen if they are faithful and believe and declare.

Just like Rees Howells, I've had evangelism and healing training for a season. I don’t claim to be like him, but his story helps me to understand that I can move into deeper and higher realms as led by God. Jesus does a new thing and when I see it then I follow. Sometimes I follow alone and sometimes I flow with a team.
