The Prophetic Fulfillment of Romans Chapter One

Today's culture is living in Romans 1:18-32. God has given over the world, and particularly America, to "the lusts of their hearts to impurity," to "degrading passions," and to "a depraved mind." The words "given over" are used three times in this chapter (24, 26, 28).

The "giving over" is because God's created bodies are being "dishonored" among them. There certainly is a dishonoring of unborn babies through abortion, and through same-sex marriage and transgenderism. In each of these cases, it is dishonoring what God has designed and created. 

 God gave them over because they "exchanged the glory of the incorruptilble God for an image in the form of corruptible man." Surely, there is much emphasis on worshipping what humanity has created with no acknowledgement of God the Creator. 

 Another reason God has given over people and nations to the consequences of their hearts and actions is that "they have exchanged the truth of God for a lie." There is much falling away from the truth of scripture even by so-called conservative churches and organizations, combined with deception.

The third reason is "they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer"(28). This verse also says that they were given over to "do things which are not proper." We are witnessing improper depraved thinking of having a sex other than the one with which a person was born. We are seeing the turning away from the natural function of men and women. There are now Drag Queens in some public schools, libraries, daycare centers, Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, "Good Morning America," and even in the chapel service at Luther Seminary (the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America).  Transgenders are now welcome in the Miss Universe Pagent. It certainly is not proper to indoctrinate young children with confusion about their sexual identity which goes totally against biological science and physical anatomy. 

 In verses 29-31 is a long list of things we are seeing happen today: unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil, envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice, gossips, slanderers, HATERS OF GOD, insolent, arrogant, boastful, INVENTORS OF EVIL, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, UNMERCIFUL" (emphasis mine).

Verse 32 says, "And, although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but give hearty approval to those who practice them." It is appaling how large a percentage of people have compromised long held beliefs and common sense and given "hearty approval" to the things mentioned in Romans 1. 

God has given over America and the world to ungodly attitudes and practices. Judgment is soon coming. Many people believe that it has already begun. Storms and weather have been described as "unprecedented." The sentence, "We have never seen anything like this before" has often been used. Earthquakes and volcanoes are more frequent and intense, and are occurring in unexpected places. The "birth pangs" mentioned in Matthew 24 have begun, and they will get more intense. 

Monuments to satan and pagan idols have been erected in several major cities. A dramatic rise in Satanism is filing the void left by a decline in church attendance and acceptance of biblical truth. Thousands of churches across America have closed their doors, for good. 

Acts14:16 says, "In the generations gone by He has permitted all the nations to go their own ways." America, especially, once a nation founded on Christian principles with strong moral standards, has gone its own way apart from God. We are now witnessing the consequences. We will soon see God's wrath played out on the world scene.
