Encompassing a potpourri of electoral decisions that need to be made this day, I ponder on the death of morality in this nation. More and more there seems to be less and less of a true moral base. This is very disconcerting not only to my generation, but I fear that the following generation will accept any pablum they are served.

I am not using this platform to parade my political beliefs, however the race is closer than ever and honestly speaking, this presidential race is a no-brainer. We find ourselves contending once again with the moral issues debated back and forth like a ping-pong ball. Frankly the debate was eradicated 6000 years ago when God laid down the law for His people. There are times when we need to be vocal about what is right or wrong. The best way to do that is to get out to the polls. This nation cannot afford men and women who stand in the name of Jesus, to continue to sit on the premises as spectators during an election year. We must be accountable in all areas of our life; political, social and spiritual. This nation needs it and our God demands it.

“Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply
moral excellence……”
(2 Peter 1:5)

When we read this scripture we realize it is our responsibility to supply moral excellence, not anyone else’s. If each person would take it upon themselves to display a moral life, convey moral attributes and demise immoral activity in this nation, we would find once again the favor of God shining ever so brightly upon her. Be responsible in your actions as an ambassador of Christ and as a citizen. As much as you may hear the rhetoric cries insisting on separation of church and state, you must remember that our first amendment speaks nothing of it!

I once had someone say to me that it was refreshing to hear me speak out as a citizen and a believer holding both tightly in my hand. I ask you, “Is there any other way to live our life?” Yes, I hope that I have persuaded you as our brother Paul once said, “Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest to God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences. (2 Corinthians 5:11).” Honestly, my prayer is that your conscious will not let you rest until you fulfill your moral responsibility. See you at the polls!
