I cry aloud to the Lord,
Plead for His mercy and grace;
Praying not to be ignored,
For feeling His sweet embrace.

I cried to Him with my voice,
To hear my supplication;
Because it is of my choice,
Showing my dedication.

For I pour out my complaint,
In revealing my trouble;
Because of feeling so faint,
And pull me from the rubble.

Although my spirit is weak,
And feeling so flooded out;
The Lord knows the path I seek,
I drown not without a doubt.

Along this path I travel,
My foes have hidden a snare;
A trap that would unravel,
For the things with God I share.

Look to the right and I see,
No person there for support;
No one standing up for me,
But God my counsel in court.

I cry to the Lord to say,
He is my sheltered refuge;
For as I live I obey,
Caused by the stormy deluge.

I ask God to hear my cry,
Because of feeling so weak;
For wanting in asking why,
I am not humbled and meek.

I need the Lord to rescue,
For my enemy is strong;
And continue to pursue,
Desiring to do me wrong.

He will free my soul on bond,
In my praise I did confess;
Since I know He does respond,
As the righteous shall compass.

For I know God is my friend,
With Him I am not alone;
Beyond when this life would end,
For my past He does atone.
